Meefoon Mania - Seafood meefoon





Last 2 blogs were italian and Indian cuisine...So  I decided to go Chinese this time. Meefoon trial for today.

Ingredients:
1 packet of rice vermicelle
Shredded cabbage
2 medium carrots
Soy sauce
Oyster sauce
Fish sauce
Sesame oil
Shrimps
Fish balls
Squid tubes

Method:
1. Cut the squid tubes,fishball and shrimps and marinate them in a mixture of ginger-garlic, lemon juice, black pepper, salt. Leave for 20 -30 mins.


2. In the meantime you can start cutting the vegetables. Shred some cabbage, carrots, maize. Finely chop spring onion for garnishing. 

3. In a pan,heat some butter and fry  the shrimps remove and set aside. Then in  the same pan fry the marinated squid and fish balls.

4. Remove the squid and fishball. Then add the shredded cabbage and rest of the vegetable and sautee. I prefer my my veggies crunchy so I don't usually sautee for long.

5. Now you can start preparing the rice vermicelle...I put 1 packet of rice vermicelli in boiling water for 2 minutes. It's preferable you read the instructions on the packet of your rice vernicelli as it differs according to brand. When it becomes slightly soft, Drain it.

6. After draining, put the cooked meefoon in the pan of sauteed vegetables gently.

7. Add sesame oil,soy sauce, fish sauce and oyster sauce (optional) and mix evenly. The sesame oil enhances the flavour of the meefoon and also prevents it from sticking. Stir the veggies along with the meefoon and top  with the squid,shrimp and fishball.
